Who we are

Football Boss is operated by Harry Oliver, who is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@footballbosssim.com.

Our approach

Football Boss does not need an account and does not ask for your name or email to play. Your club, squad and season progress are stored only in your own browser's local storage on your device — we cannot see them.

What we collect and why

  • Technical and usage data (IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, error reports) — to run the site securely, prevent fraud and abuse, fix bugs and improve the game. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in operating a safe, working service.
  • Support messages (your email address and whatever you tell us) — to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in helping our players, and performance of our agreement with you.
  • Purchase records (order reference, purchase status) — to provide the paid custom club name upgrade and handle refunds. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you and our legal obligations.

We do not use Football Boss to profile children or serve behavioural advertising.

Who we share data with

  • • Hosting and infrastructure providers that run the website for us.
  • • Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of the upgrade, payments, invoicing, tax compliance and refunds. Paddle handles your payment details directly under its own privacy notice; we never see your card data.
  • • Professional advisers such as accountants or lawyers, where needed.
  • • Authorities, where we are required to by law.

International transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK/EU adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Technical logs are kept for a short period (typically up to 12 months), support emails for as long as needed to resolve your query, and purchase records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. After that we delete or anonymise the data.

Cookies and local storage

We use only essential storage: your browser's local storage to save your season and any upgrade you have bought, plus cookies that Paddle needs to run checkout securely. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can clear this data at any time in your browser settings, though doing so removes your saved season.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and limited access to any data we hold, to protect personal data.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask us to give you access to your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to our use of it, or give you a portable copy. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. Email us and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to your local supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
